Cook/Commis 2’s play a vital role in the overall success of the culinary team and the restaurants within the resort.

Job Summary

Your role as a Cook/Commis 2 is to provide exceptional service and support the culinary team behind the scenes. The care you devote to all aspects of food preparation will result in the creation of spectacular cuisine!

  • Expected Hourly Wage: Dependent on Resort and level of Skills/Experience
  • Work Schedule: Hours and shift schedule will vary, and can fluctuate seasonally
  • Level of English Required: Intermediate to High
  • Start Dates: May/June (Summer), October/November (Winter)

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual 
dishes and foods
  • Prepare and cook special meals for clients as 
instructed by Chef
  • Help supervise kitchen helpers and apprentices
  • Oversee subordinate personnel in preparation, 
cooking and handling of food
  • May plan menus, determine size of food portions, 
estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
  • Follow the resorts policies and procedures and adhere to the grooming policies
  • Other duties as required

Required Experience

  • Willingness to learn new skills, great attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Inter-provincial Red Seal or equivalent education/ experience an asset
  • Food Safe Certification
  • 1-2 years in high volume kitchen environment
  • Self-motivated, positive team player
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure

Locations

We have partnerships with unbelievable resorts in various beautiful Canadian destinations. With this program, you can imagine yourself working as a Cook/ Commis 2 in Whistler, Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, Fernie, Vernon and Kananaskis. All of these destinations are located in either British Columbia or Alberta.
