Our Francophone Trainee Program offers more than just a job placement—it’s a fully supported journey to kickstart your career in Canada. Here are some of the positions available:

Line Cook: Prepare high-quality dishes, maintain a clean and organized station, and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Ideal for cooks looking to sharpen their technique and grow their culinary experience.

Pastry Cook: Craft elegant desserts, execute precise baking techniques, and maintain consistency in a fast-paced kitchen. Ideal for pastry cooks eager to refine their artistry and expand their creative skills.

Commis III: Support the kitchen team with prep, basic cooking tasks, and station organization, while learning professional techniques. Ideal for entry-level cooks ready to build skills in a fast-paced culinary environment.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the Culinary Francophone Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • French Language Proficiency: Proficiency in both conversational French and English is required to qualify for the Francophone Mobility visa.
  • Culinary Experience: At least one year of practical experience in the culinary or hospitality industry, at the Commis Chef level or higher.
  • Education: A diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality.
  • Valid Passport: A passport that remains valid for the duration of your employment in Canada.
  • Police Clearance: Submit Police Certificates from any countries where you have lived for 6 months or more since your 18th birthday.

How quickly could I secure my visa and move to Canada?

We will guide you every step of the way to ensure you submit your application properly. Even when the visa processing times depend on your individual case, as an average timeframe you could move to Canada within 3 months!

What are the age requirements for the Francophone Trainee Program?

Great news, there is no age restriction. So as long as you match the rest of the requirements to be selected for the program, you will be able to participate!

How long can I work in Canada with this program?

It will depend on the duration of your offer of employment but the Francophone Mobility work permit is a minimum of 12 months.

Can I work anywhere in Canada with Francophone Trainee Program?

To be eligible you present an offer of employment in a province outside of Quebec. The Francophone Mobility or Mobilité Francophone program is an employer-specific work permit, which means that will be allowed to work only employer who hires you.

Is this program exclusive to those that can speak French?

Yes, you will apply for a visa that Canada will require you to have a high-intermediate level of French (level 5 or higher in the Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) scale). But please note that you do not have to be a citizen of a country where French is the first language. It is open to all nationalities, you just need to be fluent in French!

How do I prove my French level to apply for this program?

You must be able to prove that your speaking and listening skills in French are at an intermediate level (NCLC level 5 or higher). This can be shown through:

  • Speaking & Listening Test d’évaluation de français (TEF) or Test de connaissance du français (TCF) results.
  • Written confirmation from a college or university for a program in French
    • This could be a transcript or an official letter of completion.
  • Other documents that show education in French.

Are Biometrics Required to apply for the the Francophone Mobility visa?

Yes! If you have never completed Biometrics for Canada in the last 10 years, during your work permit application process you will be requested to complete Biometrics. This is a process to be done at any of the VAC Centers all over the world. No worries, our team will guide you to find the closest to you and Canada will give you 30 days to get this step done!

What support do I receive after arriving in Canada?

We provide ongoing support for chefs after their arrival in Canada, ensuring they feel welcome and settled.
