What will I do?

The Working Holiday visa Canada is an open work permit that will allow you to work anywhere in Canada. The visa typically lasts for up to 12 or 24 months, depending on your nationality. When we say open work permit, we mean that you can work anywhere in Canada. From Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, to the Yukon or Newfoundland, you decide where you want to work.

Easy process:

Our team will help you secure your working holiday visa with no issues. We are a Recognized Organization (RO) under IEC Canada, so we’ve got the know-how to guide you on the process with ease. You’ll attend a one-on-one admittance consultation with our team before you pay anything. That way, we can ensure that you qualify for the program, before you pay anything. We will help you, so you can prepare all the necessary documents: Police certificates, medical exam, Biometrics, and more. We’ll help out with everything to ensure your application goes smoothly.

Get noticed by employers

But that’s not everything! Our specialized team will help you sharpen your resume, helping you stand out to hiring managers in Canada, and securing your future position. That way, you can start earning as quickly as possible! And don’t forget the interview preparation session. We’re here to help build up your confidence so that when you find your first interview in Canada, you can go in cool as a cucumber! Our team will give you the best tips, based on more than 14 years of experience working. Plus, we’ve worked with holiday makers from more than 30 countries, so we know how to help.

Let’s Get Started!

There’s no ‘right time’ to start a working holiday, but there are a few things to consider when applying for the Canada Working Holiday Visa. Certain countries, due to the high demand would only allow you to apply from the opening of the IEC Season (December or January) all the way until May – June, while others have much more spots available, so the application window will be longer (all the way until September – October), but it’s always best to prepare in advance.

We always recommend you start preparing with enough time. Generally, we suggest at least 3 months in advance, as the processing times from International Experience Canada (IEC Canada) is up to 8 weeks. We have lots to prepare, so connect with us today for your free discovery call with a member of the Stepwest team!

FAQ

Am I eligible to sign up for this Working Holiday Canada Send Off Package?

As long as you are from any of the more than 30 countries that Canada has an agreement with, then YES!. Check your eligibility here!

Even though we would love to help every single eligible country with a Youth Mobility Agreement with Canada, some countries have a higher demand for permits. Moreover, there are a limited number of places available. When you submit your request, we will confirm whether we can help or not. We don’t want you to pay unless we are confident we can help!

How easy is it to get a working holiday visa for Canada?

Easy enough, as long as your nationality allows you to apply under the IEC agreement, follow our steps and guidance, have no criminal records, and submit a truthful Canada working holiday visa work permit application.

Does Stepwest guarantee my working holiday visa?

NO! You must qualify for it and provide a truthful work permit application. Even though we are a Recognized Organization (RO), the Government of Canada will be the one processing your work permit application, so you must be eligible for it!

With all of our years of experience, it is very unlucky that you get rejected if we accept you in the program and you follow our steps.

Does this program include a job placement or accommodation?

No, it does not! Our goal is to support you during your IEC application process, guide you to have a great Resume and help you out with our interview preparation process, so you can be ready for the Canadian Job Market!. Please note that job placement services or accommodation are NOT provided with this program.

When should I sign up for this program to get a Working Holiday Visa for Canada?

The sooner the better! Depending on your country of nationality you might have higher chances of getting an Invitation to Apply (ITA) throughout the IEC season. However, with the exception of Australians (lucky you!), working holiday permits are limited per country. Be sure to apply before spaces run out!

As a reference, the IEC season normally starts around December – January and closes around September – October, so as you can see, you will have quite a big window to get ready!

Do I need proof of funds to apply for the working holiday visa?

Not to apply for the Canada working holiday permit itself, but YES to enter Canada and receive your work permit upon arrival. You will need to prove that you have at least CAD 2,500 but no worries, you don’t have to pay that amount to anyone. You just need to show officers upon arrival that have sufficient funds in your account.

That said, how much money do you need for a Canadian Working Holiday Visa?

A bit more than those CAD 2,500. Why? Because you need time to find a job when you arrive, and to tide you over to your first pay-check. In Canada, you get paid every 2 weeks. Even if you find a job right away, you’ll have to wait until payday, so it’s important to have some extra funds.

How do I know what Police Certificates I will need for the working holiday visa Canada application?

After our team does a one-to-one consultation with you to register in the program, we will know exactly what certificates you will need. Plus, we’ll guide you accordingly to secure them all in advance!

How does the working holiday Canada Send off package differ from a resort working holiday program?

Our Working Holiday Canada Send Off program differs in a few ways. For one, we do not guarantee a job placement on this program, but rather assist you from day one to secure your working holiday visa, refining your resume and getting you ready to succeed with your job interviews in Canada. Our send-off package is aimed for those that want to work in Canada, but don’t see themselves working at a Resort location, but rather a city, such us: Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary… you name it! – we are a helping hand along the way, guiding you to make your own decisions on where to go with your Canada open work permit.

I am ready to start my application, when should I book my flight to Canada

Not yet! We never recommend buying a flight unless you are already allowed to enter the country through your approved Working Holiday visa, so only book your flight after you received your Port of Entry Letter (POE) or Acceptance Letter confirming you have been approved and you have a valid eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization).

What kind of Insurance do I need for the working holiday visa application?

The insurance will need to cover specific requirements by International Experience Canada and must be for the duration of your complete working holiday visa (12 or 24 months, depending on your nationality). Check all the details about IEC insurance here in our blog post dedicated to IEC insurance.

What type of work can I do with a Canada working holiday visa?

Any job!! The working holiday visa will allow you to work anywhere in Canada and remember you can switch jobs, so you can get started in Canada with a specific job, but if later on you find an opportunity more connected to your career, you can change! Giving the recommended notice of course, remember that in Canada references are key so always end your work experience in the best terms with your employer

Only some specific jobs will require a medical exam: If you want to work with children, in healthcare or as a caregiver in Canada, among other roles. Let us know if this is your case, so we can guide you properly!

⚠️ Disclaimer

Stepwest is a Recognized Organization (RO) by International Experience Canada but does not provide immigration consultancy services. However, we can refer you to trustworthy Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants for Canada (RICC) who can guide you through the application process if you have specific questions or want to know more about immigrating to Canada.
